Javier Camacho - Public Information & Government Relations Officer

Javier Carlos Camacho manages all internal and external communications, government and public relations and serves as the official spokesperson for HACEP.

An El Paso native, Javier received his B.A. in Political Science and Educational Studies and secondary education teaching certification from Swarthmore College. After teaching high school history for the School District of Philadelphia and launching a debate program for a charter school in Harlem New York City, Javier moved into the field of digital marketing and journalism. Javier published articles for The New Yorker, Metro Philadelphia, Metro New York, The Village Voice, among others. Javier then returned to his hometown where he has now served as the Public Affairs Coordinator for both the City of El Paso and El Paso Water, an internationally-recognized water utility for its resilient water management abilities.

Since returning to El Paso, Javier has taken an active role in his community by serving on the Greater El Paso Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, U.S. Green Building Council El Paso Advisory Committee – Texas Chapter, and is an active member of the Public Relations Association of the Southwest.
