The Affordable Housing Disposition Program (AHDP) assures that a portion of the vast portfolio of RTC properties is made available to lower income renters and homeowners. Located throughout the US, the affordable units created by this program are a resource to states, local governments, nonprofit housing advocates, and lower income families for the next 40 to 50 years.

Maintaining the supply of affordable rental units made available under AHDP is a partnership of property owners, managers, and residents. Owners and their property managers assure that eligible lower income tenants occupy units at rents affordable to them. Residents provide information about their income and household composition in order to establish their eligibility for reduced rents offered through the program.

The Housing Authority of the City of El Paso administers the Villa Alegre Apartments and Desert Sun Apartments under this program.
